[This petition is damaged.]Stephen Seguin states that when he was the king's provost of [...] he went with other people to 'Legia' in 'Bugs' to [take reprisals] for goods stolen from a ship wrecked on the coast of Bugs, and that now the canons of St Andrew of Bordeaux, because they claim that the people concerned are their tenants, are impleading Stephen and the others in the court of the King of France. Stephen states that he did what he did at the Seneschal's orders, and requests letters to be issued so that he will not be harmed for his service.
Nature of endorsement
The Dean and chapter are to be ordered on behalf of the King not to sue in another jurisdiction, in prejudice to the King.
