Nature of request
John, Bishop of Lismore, makes two requests:1) He states that the seneschal of the liberty of Ormond has held an assize of novel disseisin between Geoffrey de Prendergaste and William de Brymengham concerning tenements within the crosslands of Lismore, contrary to the King's prohibition. He requests a writ of attachment against the lord and seneschal of the franchise, or some other suitable remedy.2) He states that as vicar-general of the Archbishop of Cashel, who is residing in England, he is impleaded within the liberty of Ormond by the Abbot of Abington, concerning the church of Moykarky. He has claimed that the church is a prebend of the church of Cashel, and that Edward I presented Richard de Samde to the church during time of vacancy, but nevertheless they have continued in the plea. He requests a suitable remedy for the estate of the King and of Holy Church.
