The petitioners list twenty-seven grievances against the Bishop of [Bayonne], Raymond Guillam, Laurence Pratte, Arnold Pratte his brother, Santz de la Riu', and Peter de Lospital for grave injuries committed against their city. [Many of these are partly illegible.]
Nature of endorsement
A commission is to be issued to Bernard de Perer and Bidau de Seint Johan to inquire duly into [the things] contained [here], and into all other similar oppressions, excesses and outrages committed against the people of the city of Bayonne by the people named here and others of the said city, and to inform the King's council in England as swiftly as they can.
