Nature of request
[This petition is badly faded in places] William de Lardo, doctor of laws, and member of the household of the Lord of Albret, states that he was given the prebend of Ramsbury in Salisbury cathedral by the late Pope John, and was in peaceful possession of it, until Edmund de la Beche intruded himself into the prebend by means of false suggestions made to the Bishop of Salisbury, and removed William from it by force. William asks that he might be reinstated in the prebend.
Nature of endorsement
Edmund de la Beche, incumbent in possession of the prebend, is to be warned to appear before the King and council in London, adequately instructed, with all the acts and muniments concerning him by reason of the aforesaid prebend, at the octave of Trinity next.
