Nature of request
The Abbot of Ramsey states that although he and his predecessors had always had the amercements of their men allowed at the Exchequer, by charters of the King's progenitors, the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are now refusing to allow him the amercements of his mainpernors, who are all his men, in a suit against Roger le Mareschal. He requests a remedy.

He is to have a writ to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, formed on his charter, to have the amercements of his men, according to the purport of his charter, and they are to allow these amercements to the Abbot, according to what has been done to him and his predecessors, according to justice and reason.
