Nature of request
Grono ap Cragh states that he has served the King's grandfather and father in peace and war, and as a reward for this service was given the rhingildry of the commote of Menai by Edward II. Now William de Shaldeford, lieutenant of the Justice of Wales, has taken this bailiwick from him without due reason, so he asks that letters might be sent to the Justice of Wales to return it to him, as he is not guilty of anything by which he should lose it.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] His charter for the said bailiwick is in the Treasury of Caernarfon.[On dorse] The Justice of North Wales or his lieutenant is to be ordered that when he has seen his charter and [when he has called] before him [those who are to] be called, [he is to do] justice.
