John de Leycestre state that he has served the king, his father and his grandfather well as sergeant-at-arms in their wars in Scotland, and is still ready to serve him. He asks that he might be given some bailiwick or office in aid of his sustenance, as the king promised to reward him at the siege of Berwick.
