Name(s)
de Moldeworth, Adam
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
[This petition is damaged.]Adam de Moldeworth of Cheshire states that after his exile and when he was reconciled Hugh le Despenser, Earl of Winchester, purchased the manor of Little Barrow for Adam's benefit and with Adam's money, and enfeoffed Adam and his heirs with it. Adam continued his seisin for five years after Hugh's death, until he was expelled by a writ of the King. He petitioned in parliament, and as a result had seisin of the manor until he was again expelled. He has sued again, and successfully countered a claim that the revocation of Hugh's exile was repealed, and that the manor should be the King's escheat, and had a writ to the justices of the Bench to proceed to judgment in his case; but they do not wish to proceed without the assent of the King's council. He requests a writ to the justices to proceed in the case.
