Nature of request
Rolandin de Poge, on behalf of himself and his companions, merchants of the society of the Riccardi of Lucca asks the King to account with them for a sum of money lent by them to his late brother Edmund, when he was in France on the King's business, and which the King promised to pay for his brother, and also for the money which they owe the King. And they ask that they might be allowed what they can reasonably show should be allowed to them.
Nature of endorsement
John de Drokenesford, William de Carle, John de Kyrkeby and Hugh de Notyngham are to be appointed to audit the account of the said merchants, fifteen days after Easter [deleted: and if John de Drokenesford does not have time for this, another is to be appointed in his place]. And a writ patent of Chancery is to be issued on this, and when the account has been audited, they are to inform the King.
