Nature of request
The University of Oxford ask that their privilege, that any layman in the University can give his debt and his action to a poor scholar for his commons, provided that he can affirm before the Chancellor that he did not do it in deceit or fraud of anyone, which they have had from time immemorial and which has been confirmed by the King, might not be removed through anyone's suggestion.
Nature of endorsement
If a layman impleads a layman before the Chancellor of the university, the King's prohibition has a place.
