Description
Petitioners
John de Faudon.
Name(s)
de Faudon, John
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
John de Faudon requests payment of arrears of the pension of 20 marks granted to him for term of life, and asks that in future he might instead hold the office of coroner of Holderness, which brings 26 marks annually, paying the King the other 6 marks, in view of his great losses at the hands of the enemy.
Nature of endorsement
It seems to the council that the King ought not to give him his land, or the office; but that with regard to the money that the King granted, the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have seen the letters he has for it, they are freely to give him payment or a suitable assignment.
