Advances from Public Treasury. Sends papers relating to the resolution passed by the House of Assembly against advances for any purpose whatsoever, which are not authorised by Law or by resolution of the Legislature. States that the matter arose in connection with a recent advance to Mr P V Young, the Officer in charge of the Plantations in Southern Nigeria. Requests a telegraphic reply and proposes to invite the Legislature to allow such advances up to £10,000.
