Funds required and Imperial Sugar Grant. Requests cancellations of telegram of 11 December, as proposed. States that the substitution of securities for cash would be in contravention of Section 5 of Plantations in Aid Act and that the sale of South Australia and Zanzibar securities should be credited to the Colonial Government. Informs that the Bill on Crown Agents for Colonies has now repaid the £41,000 actually obtained to date from the Colonial Bank.
