1 individual petition (the prisoner) from Isabell Morrison/Isabella Morrison, convicted at Fife on 27 March 1827 of opening and stealing money from a letter addressed to James Erskine, and infringement of a banishment order. Grounds for clemency: the prisoner's minor infringement of a banishment order was due to an attempt to find money to provide for her during banishment; her husband served in HM Army in the artillery and was captured by the French and the prisoner gives information about other criminal activity by soldiers who have not been punished. Initial sentence: two months imprisonment followed by five years banishment from Scotland. Any further infringement to carry an additional 6 months imprisonment. Annotated: 'Not granted' AO3. [Scot]
