Description

1 collective petition (the prisoners) from William Finlayson, slater, and Andrew Stewart, convicted at Stirling for a breach of the peace on 'Handsel Monday night' [The first Monday of the new year]. Grounds for clemency: both men are married, of previous good character and Finlayson had already spent two months in prison before obtaining bail. Initial sentence: two months imprisonment. Annotated: 'Nil'. AN 7. [Scot]
