Report of S. Lawrence [Soulden Lawrence] on 1 individual petition (prisoner) on behalf of Ann Taylor, convicted at the City of Worcester[?] Lent Assizes in 1801, for the theft of cotton. There is a statement of ill health for Taylor from John Rayment, Surgeon at Worcester Prison annotated to the prisoner's petition together with a statement of good behaviour from William Faulkner, Worcester Prison Chaplain, and counter signed by James Griffith, Worcester Prison Gaoler. There is a covering a letter to a certificate of removal of female convicts [wanting] and the prisoner's petition from Benjamin Johnson, Worcester Town Clerk. Grounds for clemency: the prisoner had shown good behaviour over 2 years and is now in a very poor state of health. Recommendation: mercy. Folios 150-155.
