Russian Empire. Two maps on one sheet. (i) 'Karte des krymischen Gebirges': map of the southern and eastern Crimea (now in Ukraine), showing rivers, towns and hachures. Scale: 1 inch to about 20 versts. (ii) 'Karte des Terekthals, von den Quellen des Flusses bis Wladi-Kawkas': map of the Terek Valley from the river's source (now in Georgia) to Vladikavkaz (now in North Ossetia, Russian Federation) showing hachures and geological features. Scale: 1 inch to about 6.5 versts. Compass indicator. The whole sheet engraved by Carl Mare, Berlin. Plates IA and IB from M von Engelhardt and F Parrot, Reise in die Krym und den Kaukasus (Berlin, 1815).
