Russian Empire: Bessarabia: Lake Yalpuh (or Ialpug; now in Ukraine). Two sketches on one sheet. Face: A view of part of the lake, showing Bolhrad and Tabak. Dorse: 'Sketch of Bolgrad & Tabac taken 28th Septr. 1856 from a Tumulus on Trajan's Wall on the West Side of the Yalpokh Valley': contoured map of the same area as shown by the view. Drawn by Lieutenant [Charles George] Gordon, Royal Engineers.
