Description

Russian Empire: Crimea (now part of Ukraine): Sebastopol (Sevastopol'). 'Plan of St. Paul's shewing its existing works of defence'. Reference table to guns. Compass indicator. Based on an original survey by Captain Hartley, Turkish Contingent Engineers; [this copy traced by] E J Standen, Turkish Contingent Engineers, 9 January 1856. A pencilled note states: 'Constructed by French and Turks'.
