China: Zhili (or Chih-li; now Hebei province). 'Plan of the Takoo [Taku] Forts showing the operations for their capture by the Allied armies from 1st to 22nd August 1860 and also the situation of the attack on the south Forts in 1859': map of the area (now part of Tianjin) between Beitang, Tanggu and Dagu. Reference table to British, French and Chinese troops and movements. Scale: 4 inches to 5 miles. Compass indicator; west at the top. Sketched and drawn by Lieutenant R Harrison, Royal Engineers. Various pencilled additions, including one dated May 1872, marking the site of a new camp.
