China: Guangdong province. 'Plan of the Allied lines of defence within Canton [Guangzhou] shewing also by numbers from west to east the occupation of the British force'. Reference tables to defences, occupation within and outside of the lines, and the staffing of huts. Decorative pen-and-ink sketches of pagodas, gates and fortifications in each corner. Scale: 1 inch to about 42 yards. Compass indicator. Signed by Brevet Major [?Anthony Charles] Cooke, Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General.
