'Sketch of position taken up by the Allied forces on and around Magazine Hill': map showing lines of defences, new works, and buildings occupied by British and Chinese forces. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 40 yards. Compass indicator. Surveyed and drawn by Lieutenant W le Poer Trench, Royal Engineers. Originally accompanying a letter from Lieutenant Colonel G F Mann, Commanding Royal Engineer, 28 January 1858; the letter is not filed with this map.
