Ordnance Survey 1:2,500 County Series sheets Sussex LXXX.6 and Sussex LXXX.10 joined to form a map of Eastbourne (New Town) and areas immediately inland. Surveyed by Captain A B Coddington, Royal Engineers, 1875-1876; contoured by Captain W Wynne, Royal Engineers; zincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Parsons, Royal Engineers. A printed note states that the map was to be used solely for War Department purposes. Coloured MS additions show War Department property and the site of martello tower number 72. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel N W Duff, Commanding Royal Engineer, Brighton, 17 August 1877.
