Straits Settlements: Pinang (now in Malaysia). 'Penang or Prince of Wales Island': map showing rivers, a gaol and convict hospital, paddy fields, neighbouring islets, the coast of Province Wellesley, and soundings. Scale: [1 inch to 1 mile]. Compass roses. Surveyed by Lieutenant T Woore, Royal Navy, 1832; engraved by J and C Walker; published by the Hydographic Office, Admiralty, 14 December 1840; upright soundings taken from a survey by Lieutenant Ward, 1856; corrected to October 1865. Inset: map of George Town and its anchorage; scale: 1 inch to about 700 yards.
