Newfoundland: Saint John's (now in Canada). Three sheets of plans and sections of a fortification proposed to be built on Signal Hill: (10) sheet of sections along the lines marked on item (11); (11) plan of the interior of the fortification, showing rooms, stores and details of defences; (12) plan and section showing the general outline of defences. Reference table to rooms, defences, etc, on item (11). Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Compass indicators to items (11-12). By T G W Eaststaff, Royal Military Surveyor and Draughtsman; signed by Captain E W Durnford, Royal Engineers. Inset to item (11): section of a casemate; scale: 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120].
