Newfoundland: Saint John's (now in Canada). Eight sheets of plans and drawings of barracks proposed to be built on Signal Hill for Royal Engineers officers and the Corps of Royal Military Artificers: (1) front elevation, end elevation and a section; (2) ground floor plan; (3) plans of first and 'half sunk' floors; (4) basement plan and front elevation of an alternative design ('Project No.2'); (5) ground floor plan for project number 2; (6-7) plan, elevation and section of two different designs; (8) plan, elevation and section of a building containing six dwelling houses and an office. Reference tables to buildings and rooms on items (6-7). Scale: (1-5, 8) 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]; (6-7) 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]. Items (6-8) signed by Captain E W Durnford, Royal Engineers: (7) 11 September 1809, (6, 8) 20 December 1809.
