': chart of the area between the Saint Lewis Sound in the north, Cape Race in the south-east and Bonne Bay in the west, showing inlets, bays and soundings. Scale: 1 inch to 16 nautical miles. Compass roses. Based on surveys by James Cook, 1764-1767; M Lane, 1771-1775; Lieutenant F Bullock, 1823-1826; and Captain H W Bayfield, 1834-1835. Engraved by J and C Walker; published 14 January 1843. MS additions, coloured, highlight the location of Saint John's and show the position of a lighthouse off Cape Race.
