Scale: 8 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Additional title: 'Sketch of the Action of Cawnpoor fought on the 6th December 1857 by the British Forces under the Command of ... Sir Colin Campbell... and the Insurgent Troops of the Gwalior Contingent and others under the Brothers of the Nana Sahib of Bithoor [i.e. Bithaur]': map drawn, in MS, over the base map. Reference table to the strength of British forces. Inset: 'Plan shewing the position of the British camps on the 5th and 6th Decr 1857 and the main roads near Cawnpoor'; scale: 1 inch to 4 miles [1:253,440].
