Nature of request
William de Somervill makes two petitions;1) He asks that he might have the wardship and marriage of Mary, daughter and one of the heirs of Edmund Comyn, who died in the King's service at Stirling (Bannockburn), together with wardship of her lands in England, in compensation for the lands he has lost in Scotland.2) He asks that he might have the lands in England which Mary, who was the wife of Edmund Comyn, held in dower, as she has gone to her friends in Scotland because of the ill-treatment shown to her in her manor of Newham in Northumberland by John de Felton, Constable of Alnwick castle, who left her nothing to live on.

The King has given away the marriage of Edmund's heir: therefore nothing.With regard to the second petition: the King is not advised to give those lands yet.
