Nature of request
The Rector and brothers of Ashridge state that their church is situated in wood and distant from any vill with a church, and nevertheless they cannot minister the sacraments of Holy Church without permission of the parson of Pitstone, in whose parish their house is; and they cannot have the petty altarage of their church without coming to an agreement with the parson. They ask that they might have permission to purchase the patronage of the church of Pitstone, especially as their lord and patron, the King, has agreed to the petition they have presented to him on this.
Nature of endorsement
He is to show from whom the church is held and he is to have a writ of ad quod damnum.
