Nature of request
Brother Henry de Bedeford, Master of the Order of St Thomas of Canterbury of Acre, states that the ancestors of the Earl of Pembroke gave them various lands in Ireland, together with the house of John the Baptist, Kilkenny, as can be seen from the bill attached to this petition, but that since the fall of Acre, these have been occupied and lost to them. They ask the King and council to ordain for their recovery of this house and land.
Nature of endorsement
The Justiciar of Ireland is to be ordered that, when he has seen the charters and muniments that the master and brothers have for the tenements named here, he is to give them full justice in this matter as duly and swiftly as can be done according to the law and custom of those parts, on account of the devotion that the King has for the aforesaid order.
