Nature of request
John de Wylughby, William de Harewedon, John de Bonham and John de Harewedon, executors of the testament of Robert de Harewedon, state that in the reign of the King's father they lent 400 marks to Roger de Northburgh, Bishop of Chester, then keeper of the King's wardrobe, for the King's use. The date for repayment is past and they have not been repaid. They ask that they might have payment or an allowance, for the soul of the late King.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have seen the evidence the executors have for the debt and the account of the bishop, then Keeper of the Wardrobe, if they find that the debt is still due and clear, they are to make payment, allowance or assignment, charging etc., and receiving etc.
