Nature of request
John, son of John le Botiller, states that the King's father owed his father £63 18s for arrears of his wages and compensation for horses lost in the King's war in Gascony, and for wool bought from him for the King's use, and that the late King made an allowance against this sum for £52 14s that John's father owed him, leaving £11 4s John, the son, is now distrained by summons of the Exchequer for £16 13s 4d owed by his father for the tenth and eleventh granted to the King's father in his twenty-third and twenty-fourth years, and asks that he might have an allowance against this sum for the £11 4s owed to his father.
Nature of endorsement
He is to show in Chancery by what warrant the allowance was made, whether by writ or at the King's command: and if by writ, then the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have seen the aforesaid writ, they are to give him an allowance for the aforesaid £11 4s. in the aforesaid debts that he owes the King, according to the tenor of the same writ.
