Nature of request
Isabella de Vernoune states that, like others, she had taken her goods to the castle and town of Carlisle for safe-keeping against the Scots, but that after the forfeiture of Andrew de Harcla they were seized into the King's hand with his possessions by Anthony de Lucy, Hugh de Louther, Robert de Banton, Thomas de Fethirstanhalght, William de Haltecle and John Dounay - for which she vouches the record of an inquisition into Andrew's goods held before Humphrey de Waldin and William de Aykeheved. She requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to Sir Anthony to provide information on the cause of the taking of the goods named in the petition into the King's hand, and which goods etc. of what value, and to whom they belonged etc.; and when this certification has been returned in Chancery, justice is to be done there.And Humphrey is also to be ordered to provided information concerning what was found before him by inquisition.
