Nature of request
Robert de [Leycestre], merchant, states that when he had come from Ireland and arrived at Holyhead, the Prince of Wales' men from his manor of Rhosfair took and carried off his money and goods. He had the King's letters to the Prince to return his goods to him three times, but the Prince refused, saying that his people gave him to understand that they were wreck. An inquisition was held which found for the petitioner, and he had the King's writ to the Prince to return his goods to him or appear before him to answer for his actions; but he has done neither. He requests justice.
Nature of endorsement
Llywelyn is to be ordered to make restitution. And the Justice of Chester is to be ordered that unless the goods are restored at the King's command, he is to give him swift justice.
