Nature of request
The people of Little Yarmouth, Gorleston and Lothingland ask that they might have the usages that they and their ancestors enjoyed, namely that ships loaded with victuals might dock and unload there, as these usages have been denied them by a charter granted in the last days of the late King to the people of Great Yarmouth by Walter de Langton, then, Treasurer, without an inquiry into to whose harm this was, without a writ under the targe, and without payment of a fine to the King, as this is greatly to the King's harm.
