Nature of request
Maurice Fitz Maurice states that because of the false suggestion of Hugh de Atton that Walter de Burgh, Earl of Ulster, held the whole wardship of the lands of Shrule in Connacht and bequeathed it to him, Maurice's half of this wardship has been taken into the King's hand and delivered to Hugh. Maurice has obtained a writ to the justiciar to inquire into this, and encloses a copy of the writ and the inquisition below the petition, and asks that these, and his right, might be considered by the King's court.
