Nature of request
[This petition is badly damaged.]William de Grantsoun and Sibyl his wife make two petitions:1) They state that they granted the King the manors of Higham and Iden, except for the lands that Henry . . . holds for term of life . . . were seized into the King's hand, for which they request a remedy.2) They state that Sibyl's father, John Tregoz, whose heir she is, was seised of £20 of land in the manor of Lydiard [Tregoze] in his demesne as is fee, but was deseised of them by Ralph Pipard, and brought an assize of novel disseisin against him. Afterwards the lands came into the hand of Henry Tyeis, and then into the hand of the King. They ask that they might have an inquisition to establish their right, and that they might then have delivery of their lands.

With regard to the first petition: he is to show what evidence he has for the exception.With regard to the second: he is to sue at common law against the heirs of Henry Tyeis.
