[This petition is hard to read.]Richard de Grey of Codnor states that he has petitioned several parliaments for the manor of Overstone, which he claims as his right, and that by force of these petitions the Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer have informed the King of what they have found concerning this manor, and the Chancellor likewise, and Richard has pleaded his right on the country and an inquisition is being held. He asks that the inquisition might be expedited and the justices might be ordered to proceed to judgment on the verdict.

[On face] In the King's Chancery with the Bishop of Chester.[On dorse] This petition is to be sent before the King so that, when the process mentioned by the petition has been examined there, the justices are to do justice and reason to him there.
