Nature of request
The merchants of Almain who come to the town of Boston with their merchandise to trade request writs to the collectors of customs there to allow them to spend the money earned in trade on English cloth, and to ship it back to their country, as they have done before now and as they and other foreign merchants do elsewhere.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] To the Lord Treasurer: Reverend father, if it please your paternity, speak with the Lord Chancellor and other noble counsellors, that the aforesaid might be expedited.[On dorse] A writ is to be issued to the customs officers of each port in England to allow the petitioners to load and ship the cloth which they have bought and which they are to buy, as they have done in the past, according to the effect of this petition, paying the customs and other duties that belong to them.
