Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Walter Amyas, John Donne, John Prat and Ralph de Walssham, state that John de Hastyngges, formerly Earl of Pembroke, enfeoffed them with all his lordships, lands and tenements in England and Wales except the manor of Ashill in Norfolk, and released to them all his right in these lands. And it was agreed between him and the King's grandfather that if he died without an heir of his body, the lordships of Pembroke, Cilgerran and Ystlwyf would remain to the King and his heirs; so that the Earl died seised of nothing except the manor of Ashill. Notwithstanding this, these lordships, lands and tenements were taken into the King's hand, contrary to reason, and remain there still. They ask that they might be returned to them, so that they can accomplish the will of the deceased.
