Nature of request
Cecily, widow of Robert de Kyrketon, states that she brought a writ of right against Margaret, widow of Edmund, Earl of Cornwall and Agnes, widow of Thomas de Bromholm, in Margaret's court for one third of two thirds of a messuage and nine bovates of land in Kirton in Lindsey, but that Margaret has said that she cannot do justice to her because she holds the soke of Kirton in dower of the King's assignment, and that she cannot do justice in respect of the land that Agnes holds as, if Agnes died, the escheat would be to the King and not to her. Cecily requests the King's grace that he will do justice to her.
