Nature of request
The burgesses of Liverpool state that there is a common way through their town between the counties of Cheshire and Lancashire, which has become such a quagmire that carts and horses cannot use it in winter. They request pavage for seven years, or more if it please the King, to correct this.

Note
CPR 1327-30 p.231 is dated 7 February 1328. The name of Adam de Lymbergh on the dorse would however suggest a date rather earlier than this, as petitions endorsed in this way are usually from the early 1320s, and it is possible that this grant is an additional one made after the original seven-year grant had expired (another grant for three years was made on 30 January 1333 (CPR 1330-4 p.396.
