Nature of request
The Abbot of Holme Cultram states that he paid 100 marks to the King to have his town of Skinburness a free borough, and a fair and market and other connected liberties there, but that now the greater part of the town and of the road leading to it has been washed away by the sea, so that no-one can live or travel there, and he has entirely lost his profit from the town. He asks that the liberties and charter he had for Skinburness might be transferred to his town of Newton Arlosh, which he has built on the island of Holme Cultram.

In Chancery.That the first charter is to be annulled, and then he is to have a similar charter in its place, as he requests.
