Name(s)

Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Geoffrey Turbok of Lynn states that John Pederogh of Calais, formerly Admiral of the King of France acknowledged before the appointed auditors at Montreuil three weeks after Easter in the King's thirty-fourth year that he had seized a ship of Geoffrey's at sea with force and arms during the truce, and that the goods in it were seized for the profit of the King of France by the ministers deputed for this at Calais, and that he was given a day at the house of the Friars Preachers in Paris at the quinzaine of St Remy following; but that on that day the auditors appointed by the King of France were absent. He requests compensation for his losses according to law merchant.Walter de Gosewyk, burgess of Berwick, who was robbed on the same day and at the same place as Geoffrey, likewise requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
This petition and all similar petitions are to be kept until the council is fully present, towards the end of the parliament, and a sure remedy is to be ordained. This is to wait for the coming of John de Bauquelle, who says that the petitioners cannot be helped in this case.

Note
