Nature of request
John Says states that purely because he showed the King's right as one of his tenants, one Ieuan de Dwyllym, a tenant of the Bishop of Hereford seized him on the high road within the Bishop's lordship, and took him out of the Bishop's lordship to the Earl of Arundel's castle of Clun, where he imprisoned him for eight days. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] Sent to the council to give him justice and reason.[On dorse] John Says and Robert ap Robert have a day to appear before the King's council with suitable warning, on pain of 500 marks to be paid by them for the King's benefit, to answer for a certain contempt committed by them against the King.
