William de Farendon, knight, states that while he was guarding the march of Calais he was disseised of various manors and lands by Thomas Montague, now Earl of Salisbury, Eleanor his wife, and others. William was granted a special assize on this matter, and asks the King to order the Chancellor to issue letters patent for this, notwithstanding any message or command to the contrary.
