Nature of request
Writ of Richard II to the sheriff of Nottinghamshire commanding him to warn Morthynglay to be in Chancery in the quindene of Easter next to show why his presentation to the vicarage of Mattersey should not be revoked.
Nature of endorsement
[On face:]By the king himself.[On dorse:]The sheriff warned Morthynglay to appear at the day and place certified in the writ . . .Names of those by whom the writ was served: Maperley and Bunch.[The remaining entry in largely illegible but refers to the parties appearing by their attorneys and appears to be agreements to adjournments of the case].
