Nature of request
The prior and convent request that the king will take them and all their possessions into his protection, and warrant the keeping to certain persons in discharge of their corrodies until the priory is relieved of its oppressions and damages. The priory is on the verge of destruction because their property was burnt in the French raid, their livestock are destroyed by murrain and they are overburdened with corrodies.
