Nature of request
The bailiffs, people and commonalty request that it be granted to them that if they are arrested and distrained in diverse lordships of Wales, as they have been of recent against statute as they are not debtors, sureties or trespassers, that if delivery is not made of the goods on request of the bailiffs of Shrewsbury then they may arrest and distrain on those coming to the town from those parts of Wales. They request the right to be able to arrest people in pleas of debt, trespass and personal contracts as other towns have. They request the king's letters to the ministers of several lordships along the Severn river to deliver their goods which were distrained.
